These are my PowerPoints from my podcast presentation in March, 2009.

A simple XML file.

This file demonstrates some of the minimal requirements for an RSS podcast feed file. You might want to tell your browser to save this file instead of opening it. In Firefox, you do this by right-clicking the link and choosing "Save Link As."

A simple RSS/XML file, embedded in an MS Word Document

I put my simple XML file in a Word document and bold-faced the items that you would typically change.

Various methods for directing users to your podcasts.

Some of these are more automatic than others.

RSS2 Specification

One of the official RSS specification websites. You can find all kinds of information on the Internet about RSS specifications.

Apple's Podcast Specification

You can find this, along with other information from Apple's Website

Feed Editor

My favorite feed editor for the PC. There may be better, but this is one that I found and have been using for awhile. It is also inexpensive.

iTunes and XML Mapping

A graphic from Apple showing how XML data gets mapped to the podcast items on the Apple store.

Audacity

A free audio creation and editing software product. I still like Adobe's Audition.

Podcasts in Blackboard Video

This is a Windows Media Video showing how to use Blackboard for podcasting. You should tell your browser to save this file instead of opening it. In Firefox, you do this by right-clicking the link and choosing "Save Link As."

Training Possibilities

Adobe "classroom" series books.
Other books from the library or bookstores.
Lynda.com training videos (these are quite good). Around $25 for a month.
